With the arrival of more spring like weather we are outdoors more and consequently on the computer less - sorry for our lack of postings! We'll try to catch you up. As I've said many times I'm fortunate to have the wonderful husband I do. He puts up with my craziness and because of his good nature and laid back attitude he takes all things in stride. For my birthday this sweet man took our daughter into the flower shop and "together" they wrote a card for me. If you look closely you can see Liza's scribble.
The weekend after my birthday was Mother's Day so I've been having a great month! My Mother came for a weekend visit and we were so pleased to see her. She brought a new "baby" for Liza that came in a backpack. The gift couldn't have come at a better time because at Rita's Liza loves to play with the backpacks. The kids fill them up with toys and play make believe games. Liza wanted to be like the older kids so she filled up a pack too. The problem was the packed probably weighed more than she did and it toppled her over every time she'd try to stand up. Rita tried to lighten her load but Liza wasn't very grateful. Liza's new backpack is just the right size for her and as you can see she was wearing it every chance she got.
The nice weather meant Liza's birthday gift from Grandmother Bair was put to good use. She loves to play in the water and giggles with delight. We found play sand on Sunday and filled up the other side and she loved it too. She was particularly fond of taking big handfuls of sand and letting it fall on the patio.
We all enjoyed a trip to the Kites Over Grinnell festival. The day was perfect for flying a kite - very windy! Liza had a good time but we're not sure what entertained her the most - watching the other children there or the kites. In this picture she certainly thinks something is clap worthy.
Here is a picture of one of our favorite kites. The man operating it really knew what he was doing and we enjoyed the show.

Thanks. I've been missing the news. Margie always knows the right gifts for Liza. Such a sweet picture of them together. thought of you on your birthday, but you didn't know it!!!
